Since Reagan exhibited a lot of technological genius similar to his at an early age, Rand made her skip the rest of elementary and middle school in her fourth grade, which involved erasing her memories of her only friend, Orrin Carthwait, so she wouldn't be held back by their friendship from graduating as soon as possible and joining him at Cognito, Inc. to preserve his influence over her and so she can become his insurance policy in case he was ever fired by J.R..
