"Inside Reagan" is the 10th episode of the first season of the series Inside Job. It premiered on October 22, 2021, along with the rest of Part 1.
Synopsis[]
"To find a forgotten password and save Cognito Inc., Reagan goes deep into her mind and accesses memories from her dysfunctional childhood."
Plot[]
Bear-O reveals that in monitoring Reagan, he realized that her work was damaging her emotional state. He tries to use the file to expose and destroy Cognito to make her happy. The team attacks him, accidentally destroying the file. Bear-O then decides to target the people who are hurting Reagan, starting with her friends. Reagan finds that a password is required to override Bear-O. Unable to remember it, she runs with Rand and Brett, while the others flee from Bear-O. Reagan goes into her mind with Rand to find the password, while Brett stays on guard duty. Rand serves as a guide for her, as she goes through her memories trying to find the ones with Bear-O.
While searching, Reagan discovers glitches in her memories involving a kid she met during her childhood. The rest of the team stumbles into Reagan's lab and finds a tribute she made to the team, and they leave to save Reagan after a stirring message from NSYNC. Brett, who ends up going into Reagan's mind, brings a younger Reagan to senior prom where Brett discovers the password. Bear-O changes his target to Rand, and Reagan learns that her dad erased memories of her childhood friend Orrin so he wouldn't hold her back academically, as part of an insurance plot to get back into Cognito.
The team finds Alpha-Beta and convince him to fight Bear-O. The two bots clash, stalling Bear-O long enough for Brett to tell Reagan the password: Orrin. She deactivates Bear-O, and Reagan confronts Rand for tampering with her mind, kicking him out of both her home and Cognito. When Rand tries to callously defend himself in vain, saying that genius people like he and Reagan are above normal people like Orrin as an excuse for his awful actions, she ultimately rejects him and throws him out of her home. A day later, celebrating her victory, Reagan is informed by the shadow board that she has been degraded from her position for the chaos she and her coworkers inflicted upon the building during the mole hunt while J.R. has been imprisoned for his many crimes against the board. They then reveal they have replaced her with the most experienced worker and their biggest shareholder, Rand. As he wickedly reveals himself and "promises" his daughter they will have equal working conditions, a bewildered and enraged Reagan curses him out.
