And finally, we saved the best for last. The all-seeing, all-knowing and all-partying Illuminati.
— The Illuminati's entrance in the Bohemian Grove

The Illuminati is one of the main secret organizations of the world controlled by the Shadow Board. They are led by Dietrich Kluge and are the arch rivals of the Cognito Inc.

History[]

It is unknown exactly when the Illuminati was created, but their leader, Dietrich Kluge, is 1000 years old, implying they are an age-old institution. They are controlled by the Shadow Board and rule the world on their behalf.

When Cognito Inc. was founded in the 70's, they have become their biggest rival, despite the fact that the Illuminati seems to be better and more recognized within the Deep State. Many great contemporary celebrities have joined their ranks, such as Beyonce, Jay-Z, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Oprah Winfrey.

Trivia[]

  • As pointed by Gigi in the Part 2 finale, "Appleton", there is an inconsistency regarding which celebrities are Illuminati and which are Reptoids. This was explained In-Universe as a "plot-hole" created by Project Reboot.
  • The Illuminati appears to be focused on mysticism and unholy rituals rather than Cognito's science.
  • In real life, the Illuminati was founded by Adam Weishaupt in 1776, a German professor who sought to protect and spread Enlightenment ideals from the Jesuits. Because he couldn't afford to join the Freemasons, he started his own society. Ironically, the Illuminati in real history was against any supernatural beliefs while the show's Illuminati follows pop culture's depiction in making them use dark magic rites.
