If they only knew the obvious truth. The Earth isn't flat. It's hollow and filled with Mole People, Sea Monsters and that family from Land of the Lost. | ”

The Hollow Earth is a concept proposing that the planet Earth is entirely hollow or contains a substantial interior space. In Inside Job, this conspiracy theory is true and houses a large number of fantastical creatures, such as the Mole People, a colony of sentient mushrooms and legendary sea monsters.
Overview[]
In Inside Job universe, the Earth isn't a solid planet, but is actually hollow and filled with layers. According to the diagram showed by Reagan, the Hollow Earth have (from bottom to top) an inner sun contained in a chamber (orange), an unspecified layer (grey), the home of talking dinosaurs and a colony of sentient mushrooms (green), a gravitational inversion field (yellow with stripes) and the home of the Mole People and sea monsters. It's top layer is a bog that seems to generates the Aurora Boreallis.
Cognito Inc., knowing the existence of the Hollow Earth, hid the truth about it from the public and built at least two entrances to it, one in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean and on in Oregon, USA.
Entrances[]

The portal seen from space
The main entrance to the Hollow Earth is located in northern Atlantic Ocean, probably close to Atlantis since Reagan's diagram mentions a "trans-Atlantis gateway". In the past, the sea monsters eventually swam up to the crust's seas through this gap and started eating up human ships, inspiring the legend of marine beasts, To prevent more deaths, Cognito Inc. put it the portal to stop the monsters going to the surface and to open it whenever they need. It has several kilometers of diameter and can be seen from space. Because of this massive size , when open, the portal swallows a lot of seawater and creates a powerful whirlpool, dragging anything around, like ships and marine life. The edge of the portal creates a curtain of steam as the waters fall on it.
Other known entrance to the Hollow Earth is located in land, precisely in Oregon, USA. Looking like a mining facility operated by the Mole People, it can transport people ~10 km deep into the Earth, where Myc's colony is. It is unknown if other entrances existes.
Inhabitants[]
Sentient Mushrooms[]

This specie of sentient mushrooms arrived on Earth one million years ago in a asteroid, but as the ancestors of humanity became their main predator, they took refuge in Hollow Earth, ever since dreaming of reconquering the surface. They share their layer with talking dinosaurs.
Mole People[]

The Mole People is a specie of humanoid and intelligent moles. Some of them live in the surface, such as Richard, an employee in Cognito Inc. They share their layer with the sea monsters.
Sea Monsters[]

The Kraken
The sea monsters are a collection of marine beasts such as the Kraken. In the past, they had free access to the surface and ate up human boats, inspiring legends of marine monsters among humanity. Eventually, to prevent more deaths, Cognito Inc. built a portal on the gap to the Hollow Earth, containing the beasts down below.
Talking Dinosaurs[]
According to Reagan's diagram, the Hollow Earth also houses talking dinosaurs, implying that dinosaurs (or at least some of them) were able to talk and took refuge in the subterranean when the rest species went extinct.
Trivia[]
