"Clone Gunman" is the 2nd episode of the first season of the series Inside Job. It premiered on October 22, 2021, along with the rest of Part 1. [1]

Synopsis[]

"When an expensive blunder forces budget cuts at Cognito Inc., J.R. orders Reagan and Brett to decide which of their co-workers should be fired."

Plot[]

Reagan talks to the robot president, who is trapped in Cognito, Inc's basement in hopes of Reagan being able to study him, which leads to him being annoyed and demanding to be let out. Reagan and Brett enter the "war room" and find out from J.R. that they are out of money. Reagan and Brett try to figure out who to fire as Cognito is slashing its budget, traveling across Cognito. They eventually decide to fire Grassy Noel Atkinson, JFK's true assassin, who hasn't had a mission since. Reagan's co-workers worry which one of them will be fired, and they all try to suck up to her. Reagan tries to deceive her team by acting like one of them will still be fired, which makes Brett uneasy. After learning Noel is widely beloved by her co-workers, Reagan tries to release a clone for the JFK assassin to kill, but ends up releasing all the clones in cold storage. She tasks the team with defeating the clones and they do so, by working together. J.R. thinks he can con Rand, but he ends up fooling him, but he is happy when he learns the whole cloning division was destroyed, saving Cognito money. In a closing scene, Reagan gives a "present" to Alpha-Beta: a DVD with episodes from Friends.
