Inside Job Wiki x /r/InsideJob
Hello, users! As of today on May 26, 2022, we're proud to announce that we're officially affiliated with /r/InsideJob and its Discord server!' As part of our deal we will be sacrificing multiple celebrities as part of their allegiance to the Shadow Board promoting each-other on our platforms (specifically the Discord will be available on the wiki sidebar, as well as the first thing new users will see upon entering the wiki). Our mutual teams hope that this partnership will help improve the centralization of Inside Jobs fan community for everyone to have fun together and pull our hairs apart from the show's conspiracies. We may also promote any events from the Discord or subreddit here on the Wiki.
We'd also like to introduce into the team - both…
Navigation
In this blog, I'll be including some information and links to help pages about topics that relate to wiki navigation.
- 1 Main Page
- 2 Navigation menu
- 3 Category
- 4 Sitename
- 5 Tables
The main page is the front page of the wiki - one of the main points of entry, from where you can invite visitors to find some of the core content about the topic, or relevant pages for them to find out more about the wiki community.
The main page works like any other article: it’s editable, and you use the same editor you do when writing and editing content, with the difference that it tends to have a special design that helps arrange it in different sections, featuring some content over others (such as including the main characters, featured article, videos, and more). If yo…
Things to know about Portability
A significant amount of wiki readers come from mobile and other small devices these days, especially the more a wiki grows and appears on Google and other search engines.
Even though admins and the more regular wiki editors tend to prefer editing via computer to better organize the wiki, it's important to make sure the experience is also pleasant on mobile. That's what portability is all about: making sure people can browse the wiki well, regardless of what device they're using.
To give an example: one of the items that get mentioned as an example of poor mobile experience, is the case of nested tables. A nested table is a table that exists inside of another table - this is typically done for reasons of design (which I mentioned as a bad practi…
Design information
Hello again! In this post, I will be outlining ome of Fandom's design tools and linking to their help pages. These help us set up the theme of a wiki and make sure it looks alright for everyone.
Like I mentioned in my first blog, these are intended for Evolve330 and Starbuckswover - and in this case, more relevant to them since they're the admins and have access to the tools - but if anyone else wants to know more about what's available, you can always keep reading. Make sure to comment if you do, or ask me any questions!
FandomDesktop is the new design of the user interface for Fandom wikis (including formerly Gamepedia wikis) and Wikia.org wikis.
While FandomDesktop has a number of new and adapted features from skins Fandom prevously had, some…
Content 101
Hello, and welcome!
This is the first in a few posts where I'll be sharing some basic information about wiki editing - mostly outlining some details to be aware of, and linking to relevant help pages where you can find out more. (This post is intended for Evolve330 and Starbuckswover, but if anyone else is interested, feel free to keep reading!)
For this one, I'll be covering a few aspects of content, including some of the key tools that can help us as we edit and organize wiki pages.
A wiki is intended to be a comprehensive resource of information about something. The best way to show this, is to ensure it contains a decent page about the main topic (for us here, this would be the "Inside Job" page). It's also ideal if the wiki contains core …
Wiki Status Report No. 1
Hello everyone. I wanted to create a status report in order to help us get an overview of the wikis current situation, so I did.
Note: This blog is not meant to offend anyone. I am well aware that one doesn´t always have the time to edit a lot in this wiki.
- Gigi Thompson (There is a section about her personality, but it is empty)
- Magic Myc (The article could be a bit more comprehensible, but the most important facts are there.)
- Andre Lee (The article lacks a description of his physical appearance.)
- Articles about the voice actors
- Articles about secondary characters and other locations than the Cognito Inc. building
