Bear-O is the robot designed and built by Rand Ridley for his daughter Reagan. It was created as a "caretaker" and "best friend" for Reagan during her childhood. Its design was based on the design of a teddy bear.
Physical Appearance[]
Bear-O is a large robot with a head of a teddy bear. He eggshell white paint job has a blue trim, grey circle on his stomach and dark grey waste. He has a bulky build and tank treads in place of legs. Decades later after being rebuilt Bear-O is now covered in dents, some of his body parts are rusted, has light grey metal plate patching up the upper right side of his torso and the blue part of his left shoulder joint is missing
Personality[]
Bear-O was created with the purpose of keeping Reagan happy, however it backfired as a result of Rand's poor understanding of people and lack of interactions with real people. The robot brought the child Reagan fear and would become one of her many sources of trauma and social awkwardness. It appears that the robot wasn't future-proofed for an adult's mindset, since it is near impossible for it to tell the difference between what a child needs and what an adult needs.
It is willing to achieve the goal of her happiness without inhibition, taking any drastic and unnecessary measures to do so and endangering anyone who doesn't align with it. This almost led to the robot destroying Cognito Inc. and killing anyone who put Reagan in any sort of depressed state.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Near-indestructible body: Its armor is virtually impenetrable, it is able to survive a bazooka attack without a scratch and take the blows from another killer robot head on.
- Super strength: Bear-O has tremendous strength capable of breaking down giant metal doors and tossing multiple people around with no strain.
- Advanced arsenal: Bear-O has incredible firepower that could put almost any adversary into a corner and either melt down metal or reduce anything in his attack range into a pile of rubble.
Weaknesses[]
- Bear-O doesn't have a neck, meaning that it has a limited field of vision and has to rotate its entire body to see around itself.
- Bear-O is programmed with a single purpose, unable to dedicate its processing power to any other purpose.
- Bear-O has an override password ("ORRIN") to deactivate it which Rand set during Reagan's childhood, however he would erase all memories of Orrin — simultaneously erasing any memory of the password from her mind.
History[]

Bear-O traumatizing a young Reagan with its metallic hug.
Because Rand was absorbed by maintaining his name in Cognito, Inc. and the power it gave him as well as believed that emotionality makes people weak, he exhibited little to no empathy to his daughter, not even bothering to hug her in difficult moments, instead tasking it with his bear-like robot creation, Bear-O, which has repeatedly ambushed and traumatized Reagan throughout her life, leading her to repress the memory of the robot and develop a defense mechanism of punching people when they tried to hug her.

Eventually, Bear-O was dissembled put in boxes and kept inside Reagan's parents house until Reagan helped her parents with moving her father's stuff out of her mother's house because of their divorce. To prove he was a good father, Rand reassembled Bear-O, much to Reagan's dismay. Rand took Bear-O to Reagan, who was being convicted for attacking the leader of the Reptoids, and the robot was used as evidence that Rand's bad parenting was the cause of the incident. After this, Bear-O was taken back to Cognito, Inc. where he did odd jobs such as cleaning the office, catering Tamiko's weeding and assisting Reagan in any way possible. As time went on however Bear-O saw Reagan was frustrated at work, constantly annoyed by her Coworkers and had a very strained relationship with her father; all of which resulted in high cortisol levels, irregular sleep patterns, adverse blood alcohol index and excessive Adderall consumption. Because his primary directive was to make Reagan happy Bear-O came to the conclusion that he needed to eliminate everything that made Reagan unhappy.

On the day of Reagan's promotion to become the CEO of Cognito, Inc. and J.R. becoming inducted to the Shadow Board, the company's true superiors, a mole was found to have stolen sensitive data. Because of that, J.R.'s promotion was resumed, and Reagan tasked with locating and identifying the mole. After a while of a chaotic hunt, Rand had dropped from the ceiling, revealing he had wanted to celebrate Reagan's promotion. When Reagan's coworkers deduced, he had stolen the data, Reagan decided to defend her father from the team while Bear-O helped the escaped, and, after a tireful fight, video footage was revealed Bear-O to be the mole, as he wanted Reagan to get fired from a job, she hates to finally be happy, his highest priority. He then blamed her state on her coworkers, deciding and forcing Reagan to deactivate him, the only thing stopping her being that she had forgotten the deactivation password. but when it was revealed what Bear-O had done and what he was about to do, the file was destroyed in an attempt to destroy the robot with a rocket launcher.
Bear-O, defeated.
Bear-O, however, was unharmed because Rand had made him nearly indestructible as he didn't want Reagan to accidentally destroy him. Regan and Rand go inside her mind to uncover the password, during which Rand attempts to hide the half-erased memories of Orrin from her, which she deduces after a time and subdues him to investigate herself. Uncovering the truth and losing trust in Rand completely, she awakens along with Rand and Brett (who had accidentally entered her mind and inserted himself into her homecoming memory to make her happier) and deactivates Bear-O with the password, ORRIN.
Relationships[]
Reagan Ridley[]
The robot was made as a stand-in for Reagan's father, since he was not keen on giving proper affection. Her needs as a child weren't met due to her father's neglect and Bear-O's ungentle nature. The harsh and unwelcoming physique of the robot made it a source of panic attacks for her, and with every hug that it was programmed to give her at random, Reagan would only get more scared and traumatized. Bear-O would pop up unannounced to surprise her, while also destroying anything in its way to reach her. Growing up with this constant in her life made hugs something she never wanted to experience again, contributing to her already existing social anxiety. It would take years for her to repress these memories to the point it physically made her impossible to hug anyone. This lasted into her adulthood when Bear-O wasn't a part of her life anymore.
During her tenure at Cognito Inc., Rand would put Bear-O back together and reactivate him. This triggered Reagan's post-traumatic stress and brought back her trauma and fear of hugs. On the same day, she was subject to "reptoid sensitivity training" and attacked Brett when she was supposed to hug him, as is customary among Reptoids. With the aid of Brett and a mechanical hug device, she got over her fear, and would later keep the robot as an assistant to her in the workplace.
Unfortunately, Bear-O witnessed her unhappiness while working at Cognito and would attempt to change that by any means necessary. To it, this meant removing everyone — her co-workers — who made her unhappy, as well as taking down the entire company she was working at.
Rand Ridley[]
Rand created Bear-O during his daughter's childhood. He programmed the robot to be the only thing that Reagan needs, replacing any parental or platonic relationships in the process. When Rand and her school's principal was discussing the idea of her befriending Orrin Carthwait to get her out of her shell, Rand shut down that possibility in favor of Bear-O providing any and all of her emotional needs.
When Bear-O "eliminated" Reagan's co-workers (in reality, they escaped its sight and convinced it that they were removed), Rand was the only logical source of unhappiness left which meant that he would be its last target. The fact that Rand created it wasn't relevant, since Bear-O only took the most "logical" approach to a situation.
Reagan's co-workers[]
Bear-O saw how much they irritated Reagan, which brought it to the conclusion of eliminating them by all means necessary to make Reagan happy. They escaped Bear-O's line of fire, which it read as them being eliminated/dead.
Alpha-Beta[]
In "Inside Reagan", Andre, Gigi, Myc and Glenn were essentially powerless to take on Bear-O with any of their combined strength, however they approached Alpha-Beta as a last resort to attack it. Their strategy for convincing him was to make him feel like his status as a true Artificial Intelligence was being challenged and that he needed to defeat it to become the best robot. Alpha-Beta accepts, and he is given a body to fight off Bear-O. This held him off until Reagan was able to deactivate him.
